Planning a Ski Week in Saint-Martin-de-Belleville

Saint-Martin-de-Belleville offers the charm of a traditional Savoyard village with direct access to the world’s largest connected ski domain. It is a place where skiing, good food and quiet evenings come together naturally.

Positioned in the heart of Les 3 Vallées, Saint-Martin is ideally located for exploring the surrounding valleys — from Méribel, Courchevel and La Tania to the east, and Les Menuires, Val Thorens and Orelle to the west.

Below is a suggested itinerary for a winter week that balances time on the slopes with good mountain restaurants, relaxing afternoons and unhurried evenings.

EVENING 1 – Arrival

Settle into the chalet and take time to unwind. A stroll through the village, a visit to the delicatessen and cheese shop, and a relaxed dinner at home create a calm start to the week.

DAY 1 – First Ski Day

Begin with the gentle blue runs above Saint-Martin and Méribel (Jerusalem, Crêtes, Gelinotte). These slopes are wide and well-prepared, offering an ideal start to the week.

For lunch, Les Verdons in Méribel is easy to reach via blue pistes. It sits at the top of the Verdons gondola and links gently to the wider Saulire area. A sunny terrace and calm atmosphere make it a good early-week stop.

DAY 2 – Exploring the Belleville Valley

aperol spritz and mountains

With confidence building, ski further into the Belleville Valley towards Val Thorens for high-altitude scenery and wide-open slopes.

For lunch or an early après drink, Roc 7 in Les Menuires offers a relaxed atmosphere and upbeat music.

In the evening, Pourquoi Pas in the village provides a welcoming setting with weekly events:

  • Tuesdays: Quiz night
  • Thursdays & Sundays: Live music

A comfortable place to feel part of village life.

DAY 3 – A Long Lunch with Stunning Views

Chez Pepe ncholas

Enjoy an unhurried lunch at Chez Pépé Nicolas, a farmhouse restaurant known for local produce, traditional charm and wide mountain views — especially memorable on a clear day.

A relaxed afternoon — reading, napping, or taking a stroll through the village — brings the day to a gentle close.

DAY 4 – Ski, Lunch & Spa

Enjoy a relaxed ski in the morning before settling in for a special mountain lunch. Heading towards Méribel, these are some favourite options (if your budget allows):

Skip apres and take time to unwind. Saint-Martin and the surrounding valley offer several calm and welcoming spa spaces:

DAY 5 – Venture to Orelle

If your confidence and legs allow, head via Val Thorens and up the Cime Caron cable car to Orelle — the far edge of the ski domain. On clear days, the views are exceptional, and after snowfall the valley becomes a favourite for powder seekers.

For lunch, try La Fruitière at La Folie Douce in Val Thorens. Sophisticated but never serious, La Fruitière proves that fine dining can thrive at 2,600 m. Truffle risotto, sea bass with saffron, and the promise of après-ski next door. The perfect fusion of indulgence and energy.

It’s easy to get caught up in the dancing on the tables, so make sure that you leave enough time for your ski back to Saint Martin!

DAY 6 – Long Mountain Lunch & Last Runs

For your final ski day, take a slower pace and enjoy a long lunch on the mountain — a lovely way to reflect on the week.

Recommended options (all accessible on skis):

  • Maya Altitude — Alpine chic with panoramic views
  • Le Corbeleys — Traditional chalet-style dining on the Saint-Martin slopes

If the weather is clear, linger outdoors — it’s the perfect final-day pause..

DAY 7 – Departure

Enjoy a final walk through the village before travelling home.

A last coffee in the square and a moment to take in the mountains brings the week to a calm close.

The above restaurants are very popular – we recommend making reservations in advance.
